Some Women

By Morgan Jackson

Some women are desperate. Caught in despair and seeking to escape their current sufferings.

A woman from Ghana wrote Project Hannah and expressed how she was once so stressed and upset about her family and their financial problems that she contemplated suicide. Thankfully the still, small voice of the Lord, which she didn’t even recognize at the time as being His since she followed another religion, stopped her from acting on those thoughts. She had heard from somebody in town about the Project Hannah prayer movement and out of curiosity decided to seek out one of the local group leaders. The woman she found took her through the Bible while counseling and praying with her, and by the grace of God this woman is now a believer, living peacefully with her family, and no longer suicidal.

Some women are scared. Paralyzed by fear and lacking a stronghold to lean on in times of worry.

A woman from Liberia relates how she went through a season in life where she was very ill. She was in need of a spleen operation and extremely frightened at the thought of undergoing the procedure. But praise the Lord, the operation went well and she is now fully recovered and back to attending classes at school. She firstly gives God the glory for this and secondly thanks the Project Hannah prayer warriors for their love and support during that scary time in her life.

Some women are lonely. Longing for companionship and living in isolation every day.

Another woman from Ghana shares that previously there was no unity in her family. Even the simple act of eating meals together was a rare occurrence in their household. This left her feeling dejected and cut off from the lives of those she cherished most. But a Women of Hope program revealed to her how important that time of growth and fellowship is for families, and now they eat together on a regular basis. The Lord restored their relationships and brought love and unity to their home once again.

And some women are brokenhearted. Destroyed by circumstances and reeling in unbearable pain.

A woman in Ghana that a Project Hannah team ministered to last year tells her story:

After nineteen years of marriage, my husband left me for another woman. He simply said he was no longer interested in me and threw me out. But I now feel a sense of belonging, and I know I am loved by Jesus.”

Can you relate to one of the testimonies above? Whatever you may be feeling today - sad, disappointed, depressed, anxious - God can change your situation. He can comfort your heart and bring joy into your life. Look at the stories above and witness how the Lord has already put right so many damaged relationships and restored the spirits of those trapped in mental oppression. Our Heavenly Father’s great love invites you to come near to Him just as these women have done. No matter what your circumstances are, He is ready to offer you joy and peace. And all you have to do… is accept it.
