The Story

Human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of women have become worldwide problems that have a devastating impact on women, their families, and their communities. When humans are sold as commodities, their lives and the lives of those around them are ruined.

In response, Project Hannah joins with the European Freedom Network to bring Hidden Treasures to women on the streets and locked away in brothels.

Hidden Treasures uses the power of media to bring inner healing and freedom to sexually exploited and trafficked women. Through audio dramas inspired by real events and crafted with professional advice, women are presented with the life-changing message of God’s great love and purpose for them.

Currently, the audio content stored in handheld devices is distributed by various Christian organizations working on the ground across Europe. The ultimate goal is to take the audio dramas beyond the borders of Europe through the worldwide reach of the Project Hannah ministry. The programs are designed to bring hope and offer healthy, wise choices while introducing Jesus and his powerful, passionate love.

Objectives

• To produce an intervention tool that reaches women of different social, religious, and linguistic backgrounds who are trapped in trafficking and/or prostitution with the encouraging message of the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
• To tackle sensitive social, physical, psychological, medical, and emotional issues in a nonthreatening manner from a Christian perspective and based on women’s own stories.
• To show women their God-given value and purpose.
• To present Jesus as the friend, Savior and healer of women.
• To tell how Jesus meets women in their distress.

The Programs

Each episode of Hidden Treasures speaks into relevant topics gleaned from listening to women caught up in human trafficking and searching for answers. The listener will hear her own story in the voice of Klara or Vanessa or Monica. As the characters reflect the mirror image of the path the listener is walking, hope will be revealed, freedom offered within reach, and the God who cares and loves them fully shown.

Currently, Hidden Treasures is available only in English. A Romanian translation will be available after August 2016. More language translations are being developed as funding becomes available.
