Every Day is International Women's Day
For TWR's Project Hannah, every day is International Women's Day.
Why?
Girls still are less likely to be in school than boys. Two out of three illiterate adults are women. Every 90 seconds of every day, a woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth. Violence against women and girls remains a global pandemic, violating women’s rights and perpetuating harm in every country and community. One core issue is child marriage, a practice that can tear girls from school and spurs high rates of maternal illness and death (U.N. Women Annual Report 2010-2011).
Where cultures and circumstances have trapped women in suffering, God has given TWR the prayer ministry of Project Hannah and the Women of Hope radio program to break through with voices of love. Through an awareness article, each monthly prayer calendar educates intercessors on the plight of women across the globe. The article and a request for each day enable intercessors to stand in the gap on behalf of those whose voices are not heard.
