Peggy's Message

March 2015

My dear intercessor,

Someone said, “Prayer is releasing the energies of God. For prayer is asking God to do what we cannot do ourselves.” Good to know, isn’t it? I am so thankful I can count on your prayers for women in India and Nepal this month.

Now … how in the world can we change the state of millions of Indian women who suffer “from the womb to the tomb”? Beautiful women who were destined for royalty – to be daughters of the King! Instead, the vast majority live in shame, pain, and fear, with broken dreams, broken spirits, and broken bodies. Millions were “aborted, smothered or starved to death because their families wanted sons not daughters. … Around 100 million women and girls are involved in prostitution and 50 million were "missing" in the last century because of female feticide and infanticide” (Project Hannah Prayer Calendar).

It makes me think of Matthew 9:36-38: “When he [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” That is his call for you and me. The harvest is white … therefore, pray, pray, and pray!

Why? Because ultimately nothing – absolutely NOTHING – is impossible for our all-powerful, loving, almighty God! We pray, and the work of the Holy Spirit, the releasing of God’s power, begins. His amazing grace and unending, unwavering love for his daughters in India, Nepal, and everywhere are the fuel for his matchless power released through our prayers. Think about that!

He who gave his only Son to die for us, whose Holy Spirit assists all those who call on the name of the Lord, the one who gives the “winds” a mighty voice so that we can communicate this message in culturally relevant ways – he is on our side! He is the only hope for Indian and Nepalese women. Jesus’ power will destroy the works of the evil one in their lives the moment they hear and respond to God’s love. My dear friend, pray anticipating the impossible unfolding before our eyes.

Be encouraged! Let’s pray boldly for the Lord of the harvest to heal and restore these women and to send workers into his harvest.

He will do it!
