Dear prayer warrior,
As we pray for God’s intervention in one of the most horrendous crimes against humanity, I encourage us to pray with humble boldness, knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). And 1 John 3:8 tells us that Jesus “came to destroy the works of the devil.” We believe and know that the “One who is in us is greater then the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4), and we know that those who in faith call on His name will experience the final victory whatever their plight may be. Let’s never lose hope interceding for those locked away in the darkest of circumstances.
On April 15, 2014, Islamic militants abducted 276 girls from a school in Chibok, Nigeria. The news shocked the world. Unfortunately, all efforts to rescue the girls failed. The captors justify the hideous crime under Islamic law, which they say allows for the women of infidels to be taken captive and forced to become sex slaves or concubines.
I shiver to think that these horrors are multiplied thousands-fold around the world as women and girls are victimized not only under the guise of religion but also as tourist attractions – an evil, lucrative business. Isn’t that demonic? This is part of the enmity that exists between Satan and women since the fall (Gen 3:15). This thief, this destroyer is the archenemy of women.
But, praise God, Jesus’s death broke the curse to give them life in full! He is the power of God that sets the captives free. And because prayer is not the last resort but the place where this magnificent work begins, let’s intercede with great faith and humble boldness and ask God to intervene and rescue these sexually exploited women all over the world!
Hidden Treasures is the name of Project Hannah’s initiative to reach these dear women. It is a drama series recorded on handheld devices and distributed in the red-light districts of big European cities. It deals with issues they face daily and gently presents a way out of this lifestyle, ultimately guiding them to Jesus and His love.
Please pray for us. Pray that these dear women will be rescued and saved.
