Peggy's Message

December 2009

Dear intercessor and friend,

I bless you with Paul's words: "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts..." (2 Corinthians 4:6). What a joy we have, not only carrying His light in our hearts, but also spreading it with our prayers in the lives of women living in utter spiritual, intellectual and cultural darkness. May God's countenance continue to brighten your way with hope as you join us in praying for women in great need of it.

I write this letter on the heels of the first Project Hannah European Round Table with national coordinators representing nine nations. Seeing their passion and listening to their reports, I am convinced, more than ever, that God's hope is indeed at work. What a magnificent salvation and restoration is taking place in many nations through Project Hannah's ministry! Indeed, the hope we share - God's hope - is joy out of sorrow; peace out of despair and the gift of salvation for the lost. God's promises are the bedrock of our faith. It's not a vague human expectation, nor a positive attempt to "look at the bright side of life." It's His hope - the life-giving and transforming power to women everywhere.

As we pray together this month, let us fix our eyes on Christ's triumph over powers and authorities of darkness. Let's never forget that "He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross" (Colossians 2:15).

This month's prayer calendar gives us a glimpse of the terrible situation women find themselves nowadays. It reminds me of when Jesus saw the multitudes harassed and helpless, "like sheep without a shepherd." It is written that He was moved with compassion. He said, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Matthew 9:37). Let's be wise and listen to His word. Let's trust and obey His command!

There is still so much to be done, and so many still without hope. Thank you for the work you do praying with us.

Joyfully serving with you,

marli-1
