Peggy's Message

April 2012

Dear intercessor,

While reading the prayer focus of this month, I was transported to a distant place in Africa, walking on a narrow trail to meet around 30 women waiting for us. They were Women of Hope listeners and intercessors.  I wish you could have seen their shy smiles and open arms. I tried to hide my tears as I saw pain swallowed by hope! We ministered to them, then they ministered to us by telling their stories. Beaming with genuine joy, they talked about Project Hannah’s programs and prayers, and how they learned to trust in God. They shared how he is helping them to live while they literally are walking the valley of the shadow of death, but fearing no evil because God is with them. Several were HIV-positive.

I saw firsthand how the “work” we do praying literally replaces pain and despair for God’s hope and joy.  Our prayers stir God’s heart. His arm moves on behalf of these women and their whole outlook in life is changed, even while their bodies are decaying.  It is a miracle what only he can accomplish.  In answer to our requests, eternal destinies are being changed.

My friend, it’s a joy to think that your ministry of prayer makes a lasting difference in many women’s quality of life. They are a living proof of what the gospel of Jesus can do to an HIV-positive person sentenced to die. We must pray that the light of the gospel will shine brightly where there is much darkness – in villages and big cities, may it be through radio waves, the Internet and all kinds of media. May the transforming message of God’s love, cause an eternal difference in the lives of those suffering this mortal disease.

Let’s pray for those working with AIDS victims on the ground or over the radio. Pray that they will be encouraged, knowing that God’s word will never return void.

Thank you for joining me in fully trusting our powerful and merciful God, for whom nothing is impossible.
