Dear friend,
Your continued prayer for the hurting women we serve is a precious gift to my heart. Thank you. Do you believe that our prayers are changing the eternal destiny of millions of women? I pray for faith and for God’s compassion in your heart as you do the “work of prayer” for the unsaved and unloved African women this month. Remember that no power on earth is more powerful or effective than the power of prayer. This tremendous truth encourages me to persist in this journey of intercession.
As we pray for Africa’s beautiful women in desperate need, we are not alone. God’s Holy Spirit interprets our prayers, and Jesus advocates before God’s throne on our behalf. Let’s believe that and never give up this God-given power of intercession!
African Kasongo Munza wrote in A Letter to Africa About Africa, “This continent has two different social zones, the war zone and the STD’s (AIDS) zone. The war zone is hell on earth with lack of infrastructure and where the law of the jungle prevails. The AIDS zone is different. It has peace, security, progress in democracy and the existence of vital infrastructure. The negative picture of this zone consists of a tremendous increase in moral and social problems - promiscuity, instability in marriages, STD’s, AIDS, orphans, drugs, poverty, and criminality.” A dark picture, isn’t it? But, there is Jesus – the light of the world for Africa. Nobody can prevent him from saving and transforming completely, and he does it in response to our prayers!
I remember meeting a hopeless African woman. Her husband had left her with five kids and no resources to even feed them. Suicide crossed her mind, but what about the kids? We prayed together. She trusted in Jesus and a miracle happened. Her circumstances didn’t change, but she did. Today she is an intercessor helping others to see the Light that set her free! I see it all the time: Jesus is winning in Africa! And our prayers are moving God’s arm. Because, you see, regarding prayer:
“No ocean can hold it back.
No river can overtake it.
No whirlwind can go faster.
No army can defeat it.
No law can stop it.
No distance can slow it.
No disease can cripple it.
No force on earth is more powerful or effective than the power of prayer.” (Carson)
