Dear praying friend,
Being here in Curitiba—my hometown in South Brazil—brings back memories of when I first fell in love with God and His Word. Every day, new truths would grab my heart and words filled with deep personal meaning would speak hope and faith to me. I remember reading Isaiah 45:3, “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.” For years I wondered what these treasures were. For me, the treasures of darkness are the unloved women who live in social and spiritual darkness in the fringes of our society. Included are the successful ones who, in spite of their great accomplishments, are still little girls inside—afraid to face their painful memories of stolen innocence. They too live in dark places of brokenness and pain. They all desperately need our prayers!
Thank you for standing firm and for believing with me that our “God of the impossible” is ready to fulfill His promise. Let’s ask for a great wave of restoration and spiritual awakening among women who desperately need to come to Jesus’ Kingdom of Light.
By the time you receive this letter, the first Project Hannah’s Americas Forum will have taken place in Curitiba, where leaders from five nations from North and South America came together to discuss ways to better seek and serve the precious women of this continent. The reports we receive from the fields show how God is using your prayers to bring these “treasures of darkness” to His radiant light. It is a constant reminder that our faith in God is still the victory that overcomes the world!
