Peggy's Message

May 2010

My dear and praying friend,

Once again we are bringing mothers from around the world before the throne of God. What an awesome responsibility and privilege! Thank you for interceding for the ones who are raising the next generation. In God’s timing, may they produce great men and women of godly character who will change history by producing a better society for their own children.

I love to think that motherhood was God’s final loving touch on creation. Even after Eve’s fiasco, He continues to give women the honor to be the entry of life – the guardians of generations to come. No wonder Satan does not relent in deceiving them to this day, just as he did in the Garden of Eden.

From the beginning of Project Hannah, God showed me His love for the suffering in Isaiah 49:15, 16. His care for us supersedes even the greatest of all human love: a mother’s love. “Can a mother forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”  How did our names get engraved on His hands? I believe it’s from the scars of Jesus Christ’s nail-pierced hands! That’s the extent of His love for us and for the mothers we pray for!

God is seeking mothers after His own heart; mothers of hope and faith who are investing in their children’s lives through the practice of prayer. After all, raising up the next generation is no small task. That’s why our prayer focus this month is so critical.

Our prayer calendar opens 31 windows that give us a glimpse at the amazing need and challenges mothers today face. None of these situations catch God by surprise though. He knows, understands and has these dear women’s names written on His hands. He won’t forget them! He will help them leap over walls of fear, prejudice, poverty, persecution and violence in the name of Jesus.

So, dear friend, let’s invite others to join us in prayer. Let’s stand firm and in great hope of God’s mighty intervention in the lives of countless mothers worldwide this month.

Our prayers are precious in God’s sight.
