Peggy's Message

October 2015

Dear praying friend,

I love Tina Sessoms’ awareness page for this month’s prayer calendar: “Praying with and for our sisters around the world allows God to show us his many blessings in our own lives. Experiencing their hope in the midst of hopelessness shows us amazing miracles from God. Seeing their true joy in the middle of hardship is contagious. Watching them sacrifice for others even when they have enormous needs of their own can fill our hearts with an overwhelming assurance that God is at work.”

God is at work, indeed! Our prayers are resounding loudly in the throne room of God. He’s been listening to and answering our petitions for women and girls worldwide for 18 years!  2015 has been a year filled with visits to different places where Project Hannah ministers to women and girls. More than ever, I stand amazed at what God is doing through our systematic and focused prayer year after year. I have taken pictures of these dear women and gotten their permission to show you their transformation.

These smiles are the result of hard work – because prayer is hard work! When praying becomes difficult, remember that God is alive and at work! He is changing their mourning into laughter. Hope takes center stage in their lives as they are transported from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light!  And all because you and I have been faithful in lifting these dear women and girls – month after month – to God while fighting the fierce spiritual battles for their souls. He loves to listen to our voices tapping in faith into his Holy Spirit’s power.

Often I’m moved to tears as I see women living out Isaiah 61 – transformed into “oaks of righteousness” as they smile at the future, even when they do not know where their next meal is coming from; becoming women of hope, of grace, of wisdom transformed by God’s power. And all because of the prayers of his people.

I don’t know about you, but this is a precious lesson and encouragement to me.

Rejoicing with you,

marli-1
