Peggy's Message

October 2012

My dear intercessors,

As we approach Project Hannah’s yearly season of 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting, my heart is full of gratitude to you and thousands of others who are joining us in this venture toward God’s very heart – His love and compassion for the suffering women of this world.  Many of us have experienced the special touch of God as we have denied ourselves something we cherish to spend time interceding for those who suffer.  My earnest prayer is that you will be mightily blessed as you step by faith into this journey October 1 to November 9.

Jesus said, “Without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).  Nothing, even fasting and praying!

My prayer for this 40 days is that all of us will approach God’s throne in full assurance that He has an absolute, all-encompassing, and unfailing love for the poor and needy, for the oppressed and persecuted.  Remember that billions of women around the world fit into these categories.  I also pray that we will step into this journey realizing our utter dependence on His power to defend, save, comfort, encourage, and give hope to these women. Nothing but His power will ultimately rescue them from hell.  Not modern technology.  Not excellent programming.  Not our burning passion and compassion for the lost.  Only God’s saving power!

May we approach God’s throne with adoration and humbleness, yielding to His sovereign will daily.  But we also need much faith and boldness, knowing that it is not too late!  He will respond to our prayers in a mighty way!  Isaiah 58:6 records His desire: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”  In Amos 5:24, it is written that He will make “justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.”

Let’s believe together, and “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:22-23).

For the unloved, forgotten, and unsaved women of this world,

marli-1
